退伍军人艺术日 offers free workshops for veterans, launches exhibition of works by current and former service members

More than 70 veterans will participate in art-making workshops designed to promote healing and community at the tenth annual 退伍军人艺术日 at the Indianapolis Art Center 11月. 从早上9:30开始.m. 到下午3:30.m.

A few spots remain, and veterans are encouraged to apply today by calling 317-255-2464.

Each participant will select two art-making workshops and enjoy lunch and a panel discussion featuring participants of ArtTroop, the Art Center’s free program for veterans that meets twice monthly. An exhibition of work by ArtTroop members opens 11月. 12.

“退伍军人艺术日 is a great way to honor those who have served or are serving in the military,” said Becca Nisenbaum, outreach programs manager. “Many of our ArtTroop members were introduced to ArtTroop when they attended 退伍军人艺术日 and heard from participants about the inspiring and impactful ways the program has benefitted them.”

Applications for the 2023 ArtTroop program will be available starting Nov. 14 at IndyArtCenter.org. Veterans and members of the Armed Forces who are active or retired from any branch, 任何级别的, of any age are welcome to apply for the program.

Funding for 退伍军人艺术日 is provided in honor and memory of Vincent Maxwell. Funding for ArtTroop is provided by the generosity of the LaCrosse family.
